Atlantis Systems International is a publicly
traded, high tech engineering firm that develops
simulation –based training systems for
militaries, airlines, government and Industry.
The company has been in business for 25 years
and employs approximately 120 people, 75% of
whom are degreed professionals.
Over the past 5 years the company has undergone
an extended period of instability that has
resulted a decrease in employee satisfaction
evidenced by a relatively high, top-level employee
turnover rate and a reduction in research and
development activities.
As the company moves forward a re-building
of the culture is necessary. New management
and employees have identified doing a better
job with knowledge processes as a critical
success factor in improving internal processes
related to the effective delivery of products
and services and in identifying new markets
for these products and services.
Andrew Day, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Atlantis will present an overview of the
present state of the company and in doing so
will identify key challenges that need to be
addressed in order to create a knowledge building
culture within the company. These challenges
will be taken up in workshops following the
presentation.
