Knowledge building in peer tutoring: 9th Graders deepened their understanding of and improved their practice

Poster Abstract

Fourteen and fifteen years old Francophone students engaged in the role of “pairs-aidants” / tutoring other students belonging to the same learning/knowledge building community from the PROTIC Program at Compagnons-de-Cartier School, Quebec City. They used Knowledge Forum to reflect and advance their practice, as reflected in the virtual tour that they spontaneously chose to design after seeing one created by a graduate student. From their virtual tour, we will translate, and highlight, their understanding of the knowledge building principles, the data they gathered on their tutoring practice in order to make progress, the Knowledge Forum Software, and the knowledge advancements that they collaboratively made, and published. They see their virtual tour as a contribution to the classroom communities of 9th and 10th graders.
