Abstract The presenter focused with 3 different courses (using Knowledge Forum) on the topic of collaborative learning and knowledge building. University students both in Linz/Austria and in Hamburg/Germany are typically individual learners. The course setting forced them to work and learn together. The poster shows how they used and liked KF (2 databases, 1 questionnaire) and what they think about collaborative learning. 4 thesis (or personal theories) are formulated: There is no tradition and/or understanding of collaborative learning and even less of common knowledge building at our universities. We have to learn together – learners and teachers – to experience the possible benefits. The handling of KF as a mighty and helpful tool has to be learned too. Before getting a culture of knowledge building we have to be able to learn collaboratively – we are just at the beginning! |
