Using Knowledge Forum (4.0) for an introductory educational technology course in Barcelona
Isabel Alvarez, University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain
Poster Abstract

This poster is about using Knowledge Forum 4.0 as part of the knowledge building process of an introductory educational technology course at the faculty of Education, in Barcelona (Spain). The course was taught using the Knowledge Forum 4.0 (along with traditional methods) to discuss papers, projects, concerns, etc.
The poster shows qualitative increase in students’ participation using the Knowledge Forum by: 1) Helping them to reflect upon their own learning process in early stages, 2) Increasing peer-aid to plan out activities collaboratively, 3) Facilitating all students’ voices to be heard (remarkable with 40 students in a group) and, 4) Showing that Knowledge Forum 4.0 is an important tool to help computer-challenged students to overcome their fears much easier.

The poster concludes with considerations for next year’s course.
